Twenty years ago today, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were murdered in Brentwood, Calif., allegedly by her former husband O.J. Simpson.
Tried but acquitted after a murder case that consumed the nation, O.J. was later found liable in a wrongful death lawsuit and is universally reviled today.
Wasting away in prison on unrelated kidnapping and robbery charges, he'll be spared media coverage of the 20th anniversary of the day he likely killed people.
While the (cough, alleged) double murder and sensational story it became are unique, he's far from alone in terms of having (purportedly) taken a life.
Some celebrities were actually convicted of such acts. Others who killed people - maybe killed people - beat the rap. Others received plea deals.
