A large number of people marched to Westminster yesterday afternoon to protest government spending cuts.



Yesterday's march was organised by the People's Assembly campaign group.

The Guardian reports an estimated 50,000 people took part in the march.

Actor and comedian Russell Brand addressed the rally. He said: "This will be a peaceful, effortless, joyful revolution and I'm very grateful to be involved in the People's Assembly."
