Elaine Stritch, a Broadway legend and three-time Emmy Award winner, passed away Thursday morning.
She was 89 years old.
The actress is likely best known for her stage roles (Bus Stop, Sail Away, Company), but garnered a new fan base in 2008 when she began her run as Jack Donaghy ’s mom on 30 Rock.
She was nominated as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for the role.
In 1993, Stritch won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for Law & Order.
The late star appeared in two Woody Allen movies, September (1987) and Small Time Crooks (2000), while more recent big screen credits include Monster In Law (2005), Autumn In New York (2000), Screwed (2000) and Out to Sea (1997).
Stritch was married to John Bay in 1973. He passed away in 1982.
